US Open 2008

Hey there all friends of the small yellow balls...

Yesterday was the day, we had tickets for the evening session of the US Open, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments.
Our matches: S. Bammer (23) - J. Jankovic (2), quarter-finals, and A.Roddick (8) - F. Gonzalez(28), 4th round.

The afternoon's match Federer - Andreev took too long, so the women’s place was changed from Arthur Ashe Stadium to the Lois Armstrong Arena. This was the best thing that could happen to us, because the seat-numbers on the tickets weren’d relevant in the other Arena and we got seats in the first row, directly behind the referee. Though our cheering for Sybille, the match was over very quick, 1:6, 4:6.

The second match took place in the Artur Ashe Stadium, the biggest Tennis-Arena in the world. Over 20000 people can take place in it and it was nearly sold out that evening.
Tiger Woods and Cameron Diaz also watched the match in one of the 90 luxury-boxes.
Andy Roddick won with his service, 147mph, wow, Gonzalez was blown away...6:2, 6:4, 6:1.
All-in-all it was a unique experience to be at that event!

And the best thing in the end: we have stolen two souvenir-glasses, or better, we have found them on the ground, yeeha! ;-)

I've put some pictures below, enjoy!
